Incisiebehandeling

Bij incisies bestaat de kans op complicaties. Het is daarom belangrijk dat incisies waarbij het risico bestaat op postoperatieve complicaties in een vroeg stadium worden behandeld.

Over Incisiebehandeling

Complicaties als gevolg van chirurgische incisies kunnen ernstige gevolgen hebben. Deze complicaties hebben geleid tot:

Een half miljoen infecties van chirurgische wonden per jaar^1,2
Langer ziekenhuisverblijf en vertraagde genezing^1,3,4
Mogelijk meer last voor de patiënt en invloed op de kwaliteit van leven^3,4

Een serie complicaties

Hematoom en seroom kunnen infecties bevorderen, het sluiten van de huid verstoren en een nieuwe operatie noodzakelijk maken.⁵

Infecties van chirurgische wonden (SSI, Surgical site infection) kunnen 20% bedragen bij bepaalde chirurgische patiënten met een hoog risico.⁶

SSIs vertegenwoordigen 17% van alle ziekenhuisinfecties.⁷

Risicofactoren voor de kans op dehiscentie zijn het mannelijk geslacht, anemie, obesitas, diabetes, maligniteit, slechte voeding en oudere leeftijd (ouder dan 65).^8,9
